Mattress and box spring disposal
Curbside pickup or out of an upstairs bedroom, taken to a recycler where one will accept it. Flat price, no bulk-waste wait.
Mattress disposal starts at $99 for a single mattress or box spring, including the carry from any room and the recycling fee. A mattress-and-box-spring set is typically $99 to $199 together, and a house with several beds usually lands at the $199 quarter-truck price.
Why mattresses are their own problem
A mattress is the single most awkward household item to get rid of legally in Central Florida. It will not fit in a residential bin, most curbside bulk-waste programs require a scheduled pickup days or weeks out, and several facilities charge a per-item fee to accept one at all. Meanwhile it is taking up half a bedroom.
On top of that, Orange and Lake County both restrict how long bulk items can sit at the curb before a code enforcement notice becomes possible, and many HOAs in Horizon West, Winter Garden and Minneola are stricter than the county. A scheduled pickup avoids the whole issue.
What we take
- Mattresses in every size, from crib to California king
- Box springs and foundations
- Memory foam, latex, hybrid and innerspring
- Bed frames, headboards, footboards and slats
- Adjustable bases and platform beds
- Futon mattresses, sofa-bed mattresses and air mattresses
- Crib mattresses and toddler beds
Condition is not a problem. Stains, tears, water damage and pet damage do not change the price. If there is any chance of bed bugs, tell us in advance — we bag the item on site so it is not carried through the rest of your house, and it goes straight to disposal rather than recycling.
Recycling instead of landfill
A mattress is roughly 75 percent recyclable by weight once it is broken down: steel springs to scrap, foam to carpet underlay, timber to mulch or biomass, and cotton and felt to industrial fibre. We take mattresses to a recycler wherever one in the region will accept the material, and only send to the transfer station what genuinely cannot be processed.
Contamination is what usually forces that decision. A mattress soaked from a roof leak or a storm, or one with a known pest issue, cannot go into a recycling stream — that is a facility rule, not our preference.
What it costs
Mattress pricing is flat and includes any per-item recycling fee the facility charges us, so there is nothing added at the door.
| Size | Flat price | Typical mattress disposal job |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | $99 | One mattress or one box spring |
| 1/4 truck | $199 | Two or three complete bed sets |
| 1/2 truck | $329 | A furnished apartment or small rental turnover |
| Full truck | $549 | Multiple bedrooms, a short-term rental refit or a whole-home clear-out |
Flat pricing applies to standard household junk. Concrete, dirt, roofing material, tires, refrigerant appliances, hazardous material, excessive weight, stair carries and unusually long carrying distances may be quoted separately. We confirm your price before anything is loaded.
Where we do this
Our crews handle mattress disposal jobs daily across Orlando, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Clermont and Minneola, plus Windermere, Horizon West, Oakland, Apopka and Groveland. Short-term rental turnovers around Kissimmee, Davenport and the Horizon West corridor make up a lot of this work, and those often mean four to eight beds at once — well worth quoting as a single half or full truck rather than per item.
Frequently asked
How do I get rid of a mattress in Orlando?
You have three realistic options: schedule a county or city bulk-waste pickup, which is cheap but often days or weeks out and subject to placement rules; haul it to a transfer station yourself, where you will usually pay a per-item fee; or have it collected. We pick up from any room for a flat $99 and handle the recycling fee ourselves.
Do you recycle mattresses?
We take them to a recycler wherever the material will be accepted — steel springs, foam, timber and fibre are all recoverable, which is roughly three quarters of a mattress by weight. Mattresses that are water-damaged or have a known pest issue are refused by recyclers and go to the transfer station instead.
What if my mattress might have bed bugs?
Tell us when you request the quote. We bag the mattress in the room before moving it, so nothing is carried loose through your home, and it goes directly to disposal rather than into a recycling stream. There is no extra charge for the bagging.
Can you take just the box spring?
Yes. A box spring or foundation on its own is the same $99 single-item price as a mattress. If you have both, they are often quoted together at $99 to $199 depending on size and access.
